in Song

Do you know one of the best ways to help yourself write a rap song? Have you spent a lot of time working on the structure of your song or getting the best flow? Those are all important, but if you do not know yourself, and if you do not know the inner you, you will be unable to produce that powerful rap song.

So, one of the best ways to help yourself write a rap song is to know yourself to the core. Your words and lyrics have to be congruent to who you really are. You must be convinced that what you are saying is true to who you are and what you believe. You also must make sure that the listener believes that what you are saying is really who you are. You see, you have to be believable to the audience.

It is important that as you work on your rap writing skills that you what you write is true to your core. You must be true to yourself. In order to be true to yourself, you have to know who you are. Knowing yourself will help you to produce a powerful rap song.

The key to knowing yourself is to not to try to be something that you aren't. As an example, if you are not a gangster type, then you shouldn't try to portray yourself like one. That would not be congruent to who you really are so you would be incongruent to yourself.

So, before you study the structure and flow of your song; before you spend hours writing, spend the time to look within yourself to determine who you really are. What makes you different than the next songwriter? What is unique about you? What motivates you? What are your likes and dislikes? Once you find the answers to these questions, then you are ready to write. You will write songs that tell your story, that are truthful and that are most powerful.
